Description
This is the stunning historic Loew's Don Cesar Hotel in St. Petersburg, Florida. It's also known simply as The Pink Hotel. The architecture is a blend of Mediterranean and Moorish styles. It had its grand opening in 1928. The owner, Thomas Rowe, named it Don Ce-Sar after Don Csar de Bazan, the hero of William Vincent Wallace's opera Maritana. This pink beauty has entertained the likes of Franklin D. Roosevelt, F. Scott Fitzgerald, Lou Gehrig, Clarence Darrow and Al Capone! And it continues to draw visitors (famous and non-famous) from all over the world today!
